Frequently Asked Questions

Yes — if you do not yet hold UAE residency, a visit is required to complete certain formalities such as biometrics and ID issuance. We will guide you through the process to make it as smooth as possible.

The visa process typically takes 5–7 working days, depending on the specific case and authority approvals.

Yes — you can absolutely keep your existing EU company while setting up your UAE structure. Many of our clients operate internationally and benefit from having both entities in place.

Yes, it is possible to establish a company remotely, even if you have never visited Dubai before. This is commonly done through specialized agencies that handle the setup process on your behalf.
However, if you would like to obtain a residency visa or Emirates ID, you will eventually need to travel to the UAE. In many cases, people either enter on a tourist visa and complete a status change locally, or apply for an entry visa beforehand, which is often the more cost-effective option.
Once an entry visa has been issued, you usually need to enter the UAE within 60 days before the visa expires.

Having UAE residency is not mandatory in order to set up a company in Dubai. However, depending on the type of business structure and your long-term plans, obtaining residency can offer several advantages.

An FZE or FZC refers to a company established within one of Dubai’s many free zones. These structures are especially popular among international entrepreneurs because they offer simplified setup procedures and significant tax advantages.
Business owners typically receive a residence visa valid for three years, while employee visas are generally issued for two years. As long as the company remains active, these visas can usually be renewed without difficulty.
Although there is effectively 0% personal taxation in many cases, the company license itself must be renewed annually. Depending on the chosen free zone and license category, yearly renewal costs are often around €5,000 or more.

Overall, the cost of living in Dubai is fairly comparable to what many people across Europe are used to. Some everyday expenses — such as fresh produce, fuel, car insurance, private healthcare, services, and even cars — are often significantly more affordable in the UAE. At the same time, costs like rent, mobile plans, clothing, and internet services can be noticeably higher depending on your lifestyle and the area you choose to live in.
Compared to many major European cities, Dubai is not necessarily as expensive as people often assume. In international cost-of-living rankings, cities such as London, Zurich, Paris, Amsterdam, or Munich frequently rank higher in several categories. Like anywhere else, your overall expenses in Dubai largely depend on your lifestyle, housing preferences, and personal spending habits.

Dubai is an extremely international city. Emiratis make up less than 10% of the population, meaning the vast majority of residents come from abroad. Because of this, English is widely spoken everywhere and is the main language used in everyday business and communication.
Although Arabic is the official language of the UAE, road signs, contracts, and government documents are generally presented in both Arabic and English.

Dubai is generally considered very safe and comfortable for women. Women are treated with a high level of respect in daily life and do not face restrictions in areas such as driving, working, or clothing choices.
There is no requirement to wear a veil or cover oneself in public. The only exception is that certain government buildings may require modest clothing, such as long trousers — a rule that also applies to men.

Rental prices vary depending on the area, but in general they are comparable to those in major German cities. One major difference is that properties in Dubai are often much more spacious.
Homes are usually categorized by the number of bedrooms and frequently include additional spaces such as large living rooms or even a maid’s room. Traditionally, rent is paid one year in advance, although many landlords today also accept quarterly or monthly payments.
Due to continuous construction and a high supply of properties, there is often a large selection available on the market. Utility bills are handled through DEWA (Dubai Electricity and Water Authority). Some listings are marked “Chiller Free,” meaning cooling and certain utility costs are already included in the rent.
Popular platforms for finding properties include Dubizzle and Property Finder.

Dubai is well known for its tax-friendly system. There is no personal income tax, and in many cases businesses also benefit from very low taxation. The UAE currently applies a VAT rate of only 5%.
To fully benefit from the tax advantages, many people officially relocate their tax residency to the UAE and reduce the amount of time they spend in countries such as Germany. A commonly referenced guideline is the “183-day rule,” meaning you should not spend more than 183 days per year in Germany.
Depending on personal circumstances, there may also be legal tax optimization strategies that do not necessarily require a full relocation.

Dubai has a warm climate throughout the entire year, with an average annual temperature of around 28°C and very little rainfall. Summers (especially from June to September) can become extremely hot, with daytime temperatures exceeding 40°C.
That said, many residents simply adjust their routines by spending more time outdoors during the evenings and nights, when temperatures become more comfortable.
The winter months are especially pleasant, with daytime temperatures often around 24°C and cooler evenings rarely dropping below 15°C. Sea temperatures stay warm year-round, making swimming possible almost every day of the year.
Dubai is also known for its sunshine, with long bright days throughout all seasons.
